François Jacqmin was born in Rouen, France, on July 27th, 1793. At first he got his musical education as child in his hometown and also learned the horn there. On October 18th, 1814 it entered the Parisian Conservatoire and horn lessons of Louis-François Dauprat got. It must have been a very successful lesson, Jacqmin 1818 won the 1st prize in the subject Horn in this lyceum. After its education it became 1st hornist at the Parisian theatre Italy. It changed 1826 in the same position to the Opéra Comique. 1829 became Jacqmin competently in addition to the musical director of the Parisian guard municipal. Jacqmin died on January 6th, 1847. Of Jacqmin 1832 composed several works for horn, his school "method complete de premier et seconde cor" seemed in Paris.
