The present edition of 19 duets for two horns as a template has a print of the composer and horn player probably D. Chiapparelli. The title is exactly:
Recueil / DE DUOS et ARIETTES / Pour Deux Cors de Chasse /Dédié / A Mr. M.D.T *** / Composé Par / D. Chiapparelli / Oeuvre Ier / Prix 1.tt 16.l / A LYON / Chez GUERA Place de la Comedie / CASTAUD Place de la Comedie / SERRIERRE rue Sirene / A PARIS et en Province
In the magazine Mercure de France, this work was announced in 1777.
Unfortunately, little about the composer to find out. Whether it be, specified only with D., first name is Dominik has not been established. Around the same time appeared in Paris Six Sonates pour Flute et Basse. In the publishing directory of Guera of Lyons appears Chapparelli another work of 1781, there are 24 Duos pour Cors de chasse et Airs oeuvre 6th
This work was advertised in 1782 at the publisher's catalog of Breitkopf in Leipzig.
A copy of this print is now lost. A little later, about 1780 years appears at the center of the Parisian publisher Sieber a 1st Concerto for horn, and this work is not at present be found.
Chiapparellis Duos for 2 Horns appeared in later editions of duets for horns only in part. This version is the first complete after the first publication. In the sometimes very high passages noted some duo playing in D or C is recommended that a register of the horn does not purport Chiapparelli.
