The horn players was Steinmueller in the second half of the 18th C significantly. Thaddeus Steinmueller (1725 - 1790) was horn in the orchestra in 1762 at the court of Prince Esterhazy, led by Joseph Haydn. Some researchers see it as an opportunity for Haydn his first Horn Concerto compose. His three sons, Joseph Wilhelm and Johann were also horn. 1783-84 they made a concert tour and appeared in many German cities, with works by Rossetti on, Hoffmeister and his own compositions.
This concert was probably for this concert tour of Joseph Steinmueller (1763 - 1808) composed with the participation of the brothers in 1783 and listed. In 1784 were Wilhelm (1765 - 1798) and Joseph a job at the Swedish court in Stockholm. Numerous solo performances are full, there also came the Concerto in E major.
In 1798 it was printed in Braunschweig, publisher Spehr. Decades after it is detected in directories as play music literature. The format and structure, it follows the concertos by Mozart, Hoffmeister and Rosetti.
