The University Library Lund in Sweden keeps the most extensive source for horn music from the first half of the 18th century. The music is a handwritten collection of the Academic chapel. Many of the composers therein had somehow connections to the court in Dresden. It is possible that the copier was a hornist who visited Dresden.
This collection Wenster contains 18 concertos for horn - and not 17 how it is always said.

No. 05 Christoph Förster (1693 - 1745)
Concerto ex Dis major for Corno concertato, 2 Violins, Viola and Basso
The composer of the work is likely Christoph Förster (1693 - 1745). Förster, a native of Thuringia in Bibra got in Weissenfels lessons from Johann David Heinichen and worked at the local court orchestra musician and concertmaster. In 1719 he visited Heinichen in Dresden, 1723, he attended the royal coronation in Prague. This resulted in numerous contacts with the Dresden and Vienna Court. 1743, he was Vice-Kapellmeister in Rudolstadt, but already died there on 05/12/1745.
The present edition is based on the transcript of Lund (SL / Saml.Wenster J :1-17). In the SLUB Dresden under the signature Mus. 2323-O-4 kept a second copy of this show. You can boast minor differences in the score.
The orchestral parts are available in sets (3/3/2/3) .
