Frederic Duvernoy (1765 - 1838)
Fantasie for Horn (or Violin) and Piano
Frederic Duvernoy was one of the most respected horn players in the Paris of the early 19th Century. He was principal horn player at the Opera and a professor at the Conservatory. In some operas, was even mentioned on the posters, which will play the horn solo Duvernoy. He composed concertos and chamber music for his instrument, also wrote a horn method, which even today still experiencing attention, as Duvernoy only played the horn. Duvernoy preferred his compositions in the middle, this style is referred to as "cor mixte". In the first edition, the piano is noted in the title as the first instrument, the horn is passed as an accompanying instrument.
