Freundschaft oder Liebe & Das Körbchen (Friendship or Love; Getting a Refusal - literal: little basket) for Solo Voice, Horn and Piano
Joseph Rudolf Lewy played the first horn at the Royal Court Opera Orchestra in Vienna from 1826 to 1831. There followed an employment at the Court Chapel in Dresden from 1837. He was one of the developers of the valve horn. There are numerous compositions for horn, e.g. one concertino and twelve etudes. He played a great part in the composition of "Auf dem Strom" by Franz Schubert and played the horn part in the premier performance in 1828.
